Happy 2009

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that this year finds us all healthier, happier, & on better financial ground than 2008 left us. I've been enjoying the holidays with my family & getting some dents made on various knitting projects.

I knit quite a few gifts for Christmas, much to my own surprise. I wasn't planning on making anything. I didn't think I had enough time to whip out anything worthwhile. Lo & behold...gifts magically appeared off my needles. I made ECU purple & gold slippers for my eldest DS & his girlfriend. I also made a moebius Ithacowl in a black color Blue Sky Alpaca Silk for the girlfriend's 21st birthday. It was dreamy soft & super quick to make. I plowed through 8 felted square potholders (knitpick free pattern)in Andy's Merino from Farmhouse Yarns (Black Cherry & Arizona colorways)for all my sister-in-laws, stepmother-in-law, & one sister. I even made a washcloth from the Yarn Play book for my mother-in-law (her request!) I'll post pics later. I accomplished it all in 2weeks.

Deborah & I hit a great sale in Georgetown's Joyfilled Garden & Gifts. I purchased yarn for Yarn Play's Poppy sweater as well as yarn for a Berroco jacket (can't think which pattern at the moment, but it's in UltraAlpaca.)I have a lot of planned projects to do this winter.

Hope everyone's knitting up a storm. Hugs.

Happy New Year! You are going to love Poppy! It's a wonderful sweater (except for picking up over 300 stitches and the seaming). I wore mine the other day.
