Close Encounter of the Brief Kind

This project is a real stash buster for me. I'm using some Suri Dream from Knit Picks that's been in my stash since summer 06. I originally tried to make two other sweaters with it. I hated the fabric's light weight lack of drape or stitch pattern or both. I used 3 balls from the bag for a feather & fan scarf I gifted to Deborah a while back (it's featured in the book Scarf Style.) Which, just to note, I loved this yarn for that scarf. I finally let it stew long enough to use the rest of it for the perfect pattern. It's the Brief Encounter from Verena Fall 2008. I'm thinking this style sweater will look good on me & be a nice pullover choice when a sweatshirt is just to casual but you desire something soft, squishy, and warm to put on.

This is my rendition of Clapotis from Knitty. I'm making it in Berroco Comfort yarn. It's very soft & it's been an enjoyable knit. It's been all over town with me lately. The doctors' waiting rooms especially. I started it on 9/06/08.

So I finally got the Verena Fall mag from Barnes and Noble and Debbie Bliss mag from Borders. I love the Brief Encounter and think it will look awesome on you. I think the diaganol thing the yarn is doing won't be bad at all. Your version of Clapotis is amazing. I love the color yarn and what it is doing. Very nice. Can't wait to see you on Thursday!

That is really sticking with some yarn, I hope three times is the charm. I couldn't find a pic of Brief Encounter online, so I'll have to wait and see how yours turns out. I'll miss you in Rhinebeck, boo hoo.
