Sorry, but this is going to be another photoless post. I really will post pictures tomorrow. I have been sooooo durn busy. I've been going to Thursday knit nights at my new lys & it's been fun. I finished my lacy skirt front while there (I only had 4" to do) & cast on for the Josephine Top in Interweave Knits Summer '07 issue. I didn't want to cast on for a lace panel & was itching to try the cotton yarn then & there. I am using Lyndon Hill (Pima Cotton/Silk blend) in a beautiful watermelon color. I knitted 1" on the back. You wouldn't believe how many of the ladies noticed I'd changed projects. They asked what about the skirt? Was I finished already? Lot's of "Wow. You are such a talented knitter." Really, they'd get a lot done too if they ate less cannolis & knitted more, lol.
I bought Blue Sky Alpaca's Alpaca/Silk in fuchsia & cast on for the Clementine Shawlette & knitted all of Chart A & up through row 11 of Chart B tonight (57 rows). I confess Nora's cozy in said color, along with further enabling by Deborah's cozy in said color, inspired me to knit this in the same colorway for my summer shawl. At least my lemmingness only went as far as color this time. I love the weight & softness that just begs to be next to bare skin. It's making me hyperventilate while knitting. Hmmm, hmmm, hmm. Yarn porn for sure.
All those revved up feelings were put to good use too. DH & I took a lovely 4 mi bike ride tonight & I'm now feeling the burn in my calves. (Exercise is good. Exercise is good. Repeat mantra til ya sound convincing!) Can't always park the hiney. Gotta move them buns sometime, right?
Today was my last knitting class for this semester. The girls made scarves, a hat, & Fetching gloves. They were all so proud of their achievements. A few of them asked/pressured me to continue the classes in my home on Tues. nights throught the summer. I just found out 5 (2 moms & 3 of the teens) of the original 9 students, plus 1 new teen, will be taking me up on this. Yeah! I am so proud of myself for the success of the endeavor. It looks as if I have bred & raised real life long knitter's.
