Here's the Picture Heavy Post

My secret startitis induced project. I was perusing Knitty's Spring 08 the other night & came across a few patterns to make this spring. I just happened to have bought enough Berroco Ultra Alpaca in 6297 Lobster Mix to make Talia. I'm making the small & had to go down to a size 8 options needle for gauge. If you ever want to make this be aware that the lace pattern is done on the front & back sides. It's something that means you really need to know where the yo & k2tog appear from row to row so as to not get it off kilter (ask me how I know...ribbit.) Here is the wee beginning.

Ask & you shall receive. DS modeling Two-Yarn Resoleable sock in all its funky array.

I had lovely blooming azaleas with a bit of dew on them for my lace photo shoot. Here's Tuscany in Blue Sky Baby Alpaca & Lacy Skirt in Sunflower. (Btw, it's a muggy 79 here right now. Thought you might like to know spring has sprung somewhere in the USA.)

I'm thinking that this lace knitting counts towards Knitting w/ Nora. I am planning on joining the group when they start Icarus. I'm itching for a beaded lace shawl. I also joined her & the ranks for logging "100 miles or bust" by June 10th. Vicarious group exercise. (Sounds PG-13 or R rated by the comments. Tee Hee.)

Ahh so you couldn't resist the Berroco Ultra Alpaca hunh? LOL It's yummy isn't it? I started knitting with mine last night. But since I'm not officially mentioning it on my blog right now, I don't have to put up a bar.

That sock is very interesting. Like how you made it into an ankle length sock. The colors look great together. Love how the model is in his pj's still. Not surprised.

Tuscany and Lacy Skirt look great too. Muggy 79 degress hunh. We got into the 50's this week,

Lobster Mix! What a great name for yarn. I heart the Talia pattern! Thanks for the socks photo. Those are some weird socks without a sole! The azaleas are the perfect spot for showing off your lace projects! Love the skirt & the shawl! It's windy today so the 50s feel more like the 40s. It's good wool weather.

It totally counts! It's lovely, too. I won't give you a hard time about your nice weather... hhmmmph.

The socks look like an interesting knit and beautiful yarn.

Your azaleas are lovely and a great backdrop for your knitting.

How do you decide what to knit? Everything is lovely.

How do I decide what to knit? Wow. Let's see. I like to periodically look through my books & mags for seasonal stuff that looks interesting. I have a good idea of what "style" I can wear which helps me narrow down stuff. Sometimes the yarn just calls out to be knitted & I go find an appropriate project before I by it. I look at online stores & see what patterns are recommended for a given yarn. Last but not least I am a Lemming at heart...Where my fellow bloggers lead I will follow. :0)

I love Berocco Ultra Alpaca, love that color too, I've been tempted to buy it. That is one crazy sock. I've always thought the idea of resoleable sock was interesting, but then again it might just be and excuse to knit another one!

Enough with the flowers and nice weather already, are you trying to kill me? It's raining and bitterly cold here.

Love all the photos.
