Coming Clean

I really have set myself up to think that blogging requires photos to make a post. I enjoy other bloggers posts irregardless of their photoless posts, but not for me I thought. I do have pictures, but I've been avoiding putting them up on my computer. Why? My poor old girl is overloaded with crapola & I need to do a hard drive clean sweep. I put (well...my Dad actually put) all my photo files onto a portable drive a couple of weeks ago. I still need to do a big delete of the main drives. I forced myself to take pictures of the bit of knitting I've done last week, but I don't want to download the photos. I need to retake the photos...knitted way more on the projects since. The pics look obsolete.

Now what's the problem? I've kinda lost my blog mojo. I haven't been writing or reading many blog posts lately. It's been very hectic here with the end of the school year looming & tax season just passing for me. I've felt a huge need just to chill out & lay low. That said, I have been waiting to post until I got the blogging mojo back. Not happening I fear. I decided to post my little photoless post in hopes that it would make me feel excited & chatty again.

I hurt my left knee a few weeks back. I was at the end of a 3 mile run & just a wee way from home. I went down on it funny & it slipped in & out. Very painful. I didn't have my cell & thought I was going to be stuck sitting on the roadside 'til my hubby decided I'd been gone too long. I sat there & waited for the pain to ease up & ended up being able to hobble the teansy bit back home. I'm back to running again...with a knee brace & a cell phone, b-u-u-u-t running never-the-less. My total miles is now anemic looking compared to everyone. It's fine. This is for my good & I'll just push forward from here. I have taken my Pilates seriously in the interim though. When I had to wait out the healing of the left knee, I didn't drop exercise completely & that's what's important.

My Lacy skirt front is just inches from being done. I think it's going to be just the right combination of drape, color, & swing. I am truly excited to wear the finished product.

Talia is almost completed. The left front is done & I'm working on the back neckline. Since it's done in the round, that is quite a lot of knitting done. This pattern is beautiful & I love, love, love it. Just so I am coming clean here, I have to tell you that I have been having a Dicken's of a time with it though. I do 3 rows, ripout 2. Do 5 rows, rip out 2. Do 3 rows, rip out 2. It's not the pattern per say. It truly is an advanced pattern. There is soooo much happening on each & every row that I find myself skipping a little something here & there & having to rip. Still. I love it. It's made me realize I need to pay attention, read ahead a bit, acknowledge that I am a good knitter, but I ain't as great as I thought. Humbling in a very good way. I have knitted this one a bit slower & have immersed myself in the challenging process.

K. I feel a bit of...excitement & contentment creeping back in here. Hope everybody finds this post eventually. (I know everyone has probably given up on checking my blog. Someone even dares to speak about me & imploring for secrets to be kept as if I am not there, ha, ha!)

I was wondering where you were - Deborah assured me you were still alive!

Don't worry about the mojo - it will come when it needs to. Do what needs doing in your life, and take care of that knee!!!

I am so glad to see you return! Wasn't sure what happened but figured you were super busy. I think we all lose mojo whether it comes to blogging, knitting, reading, etc. But it does come back. Missed ya! Can't wait to see your soon to be FO's.

I was beginning to worry about you! I feel the same way about photoless posts: I can't bring myself to post without a photo but it's fine when others have no photos. I hear ya on the blogging mojo too. Don't sweat it, your enthusiam for posting will return. Have a wonderful weekend!
